these are a few of my favorite quotes from Diana Gabaldon's 3rd book in her Outlander series Voyager:
Bloodshot blue eyes gleamed wide with alarm, under the spikes of matted red hair. "Where are ye sending me?" Turning from the door, Melton cast him a glance of intense dislike. "you're the laird of Broch Tuarach, aren't you? Well thats where i'm sending you." "I dinna want to go home! I want to be shot!"
"Jamie had that," she said softly, as though to herself. "He wasn't a man to turn away from anything he thought his job. Dangerous or not. And i think he won't have felt himself wasted, no matter what happened to him."
"James MacKenzie Fraser," he murmured. He looked up from the paper to the sleping women on the sofa. The light had just touched the curve of her ear; she stirred briefly and turned her head, then her face lapsed back into somnolence. "I don't know who you were, mate," he wispered to the unseen Scot, "but you must have been something, to deserve her."
I shook so that it was some time before i realized that he was shaking, too, and for the same reason. I don't know how long we sat here on the dusty floor, crying in each others arms with the longing of twenty years spilling down our faces.
"I've seen ye so many times," he said his voice whispering warm in my ear. "You've come to me so often. When i dreamed sometimes. When i lay in fever. When i was so afraid and so lonely i knew i must di. When i needed you, i would always see ye, smiling, with your hair curling up about your face. But ye never spoke. And ye never touched me." "I can touch you now." I reached up and drew my hand gently down his temple, his ear, the cheek and jaw that i could see. My hand went to the ape of his neck, under the clubbed bronze hair, and he raised his head at last, and cupped my face between his hands, love glowing strong in the dark blue eyes. "Dinna be afraid," he said softly. "There's the two of us now."
"I had forgotten," he sai, a moment later. "Forgotten what?" His back was warm through the thin shirt. "Everything." He spoke very softly, mout against my hair. "Joy. Fear. Fear, most of all." His hand came up and smoothed my curls away from his nose. "I havena ben afraid for a verra long time, Sassenach," he whispered. "But now i think i am. For there is something to be lost, now."
"For so many years," he said, "for so long, i have been so many things, so many different men." I felt him swallow, and he shifted slightly, the linen of his nightshirt rustling with starch. "I was 'Uncle' to Jenny's children, and 'Brother' to her and Ian. 'Milord' to Fergus, and 'Sir' to my enants. 'Mac Dubh' to th men of Ardsmuir and 'MacKenzie' to the other servants at Helwater. 'Malcome the printer,' then, and 'Jamie Roy' at the docks." The hand stroked my hair, slowly, with a whispering sound like the wind outside. "But here," he said, so softly i could barely hear him, "here in the dark, with you...I have no name."
The small vibration in his chest this time was laughter, not cold. "Take ye and be damned for it, i expect," he said. He kissed my forehead gently."Loving you has put me through hell more than once, Sassenach; I'll risk it again, if need be." "Bah," I said. "And you think loving you's been a bed of roses, do you?" This time he laughed out loud. "No," he said, "but you'll maybe keep doing it?" "Maybe i will, at that." "You're a verra stubborn women," he said the smile clear in his voice "It bloody takes one to know one," i said, and then we were both quiet for quite some time.
"I think she will do verra well," he whispered. "For no matter what poor gowk has fathered her, no lass has ever had a better mother. Kiss me, Sassenach, for believe me -- I wouldna change ye for the world."
"Too late," he said, with breathless certainty. "I must have ye, or die."
"Then kiss me, Claire," he whispered. "And know that you are more to me than life, and i have no regret."
"Damn you, Sassenach!" his voice said, from a very great distance. His voice was choked with passion. "Damn you! I swear if ye die on me, I'll Kill you!"

These are a few of my favorite quotes from Diana Gabaldons second book Dragonfly in Amber:
"I am certainly upset," I began, "but I'm not mad." I stopped, struggling for control. his wasn't the way I'd intended to do it. I didn't know quite what I had intended, but not this, blurting out the truth without preparation or time to organize my own thoughts. Seeing that bloody grave had disrupted any plan I might have formed.
"Damn you, Jamie Fraser!" I said, furious. "What are you doing there anyway; it's miles from Culloden!""And yet"---he turned me toward him, hand closing gently over one breast ---"yet when I think of you wi' my child at your breast....then I feel as though I've gone hollow as a soap bubble, and perhaps I shall burst with joy."

I turned to face him, then, and smiled at him, across the body of the child. The night was dark and cold, alive with people all around, but there was nothing where we sat but light and warmth---and each other.He heaved a deep exasperated sigh. "Sassenach, I've been stabbed, bitten, slapped, and whipped since supper---which I dinna get to finish. I dinna like to scare children and I dinna like to flog men, and I've had to do both. I've two hundred English camped three miles away and no idea what to do about them. I'm tired, I'm hungry, and I'm sore. If you've anything like womanly sympathy about ye, I could use a bit!"

He snorted briefly, and a tiny flicker of amusement lit his eyes.

I ask ye, Claire---I beg you---see it safe." I stood still, vision blurring, and in that moment, I heard my heart break. It was a small, clean sound, like the snapping of a flower's stem.
At last I bent my head to him, the wind grieving in my ears. "Yes," I whispered. "Yes, I'll go.""I will find you," he whispered in my ear. "I promise. If I must endure two hundred years of purgatory, two hundred years without you---then that is my punishment, which I have earned for my crimes. "Cut me," I said urgently. "Deep enough to leave a scar. I want to take away your touch with me, to have something of you that will stay with me, always. I don't care if it hurts; nothing could hurt more than leaving you. At least when I touch it, wherever I am, I can feel your touch on me."
Unwrapping the blood-spotted handkerchief, I pressed my wounded hand tightly against his, fingers gripped together. The blood was warm and slick, not yet sticky between our hands.
"Blood of my Blood..." I whispered.
"...and Bone of my Bone," he answered softly. Neither of us could finish the vow, "so long as we both shall live," but the unspoken words hung aching between us. finally he smiled crookedly. "Longer than that," he said firmly, and pulled me to him once more.quotes from book 3 will come later :)

well it's been awhile since i've last been on thought i'd stop by and let everyone know i am alive believe it or not :P
anyway it's almost mid term so we'll be getting our first reportcards of the year next week, i know almost all of my marks so far and i'm pretty happy with them so far they're better then last year lol math= 91% CALM=90% PAL=91% comtech=93% and i don't know Canadian history yet but i'm thinking mid 80's hopefully lol history isn't my best subject at all!!! infact the only reason i think i'm not failing is cause of those books i've been reading they give me a face for the time lol so thank you Diana Gabaldon for Claire and Jamie <3 lol
anyway yeah i had to go to the Doctor yesterday because i have these weird like wonds on my feet, calfs, and arms and they aren't healing and they're really itchy so my mom brought me to the doctore to see what it is and he said he thinks it's some sort of like skin infection (EWWW! but it sounds worse then it is!) so now i have to take a pill every 6 hours or so and they're antibiotics (sp?) so i have to eat a lot of yogurt (which i really don't like all that much) so i can get some extra good backteria in me, otherwise they say i'll get a bad upset stomach or something. anyway yeah it's really annoying but i hope it works cause these scab thingys hurt and they itch and i don't like it at all!!!!!

Hey just wanted to say thanks to everyone who gave me some advice on getting ride of the skunk smell. my dad called the vet to see what they said to do and i apperently theres this shapoo stuff called skunk off lol so my mom had to go buy that and then they had to give the cat a bath... poor girl lol thankfully she's de-clawed so she couldn't scratch my dad to shreads as he washed her. we had to wash her twice to get the smell off her, and if she gets wet the smell comes back... so last night when it was raining what did she do? go running outside.... yes she's a brat cat! anyway the smell seems to be fading so thats good. anyway i hope everyones having a good day ttyl.
